At the beginning of March, 2009, Michelle MacPhearson launched a new membership site called Crowd Mountain. I am a huge fan of Michelle. She mentored me under her mentor training program, and the information I learned from her was excellent.

As soon as I heard about Crowd Mountain I became a member and couldn’t wait for the site to become available. I am happy to say that my expectations, which were very high as I already know what Michelle is capable of, were not only met, but exceeded.

Features

The purpose of Crowd Mountain is to train members in all facets of online business building. Michelle has created an Internet bootcamp, which is the first thing new members will have access to. Michelle has created 6 different bootcamp training modules:

Niche the Niche: how to properly do research before creating a new website. Members have access to a 17 page workbook that you can download and print, and six training videos.

Optimize for Size: how to build and SEO (Search Engine Optimize) optimize a website for earning money. Members have access to a downloadable workbook, automatic affiliate profit generating and SEO enhancer plugin, and five downloadable website themes that are already SEO optimized and good for any niche.

Content Architecture: how to decide what kind of content to add to your site and how to to publish it. Members have access to information on what type of content Google loves, a custom-tweaked plugin to make finding and publishing that content as easy as a few mouse clicks, and a private plugin Michelle had built just for Crowd Mountain that will make building your site around a set of long-tail keywords super simple.

Monetization Station: how to make money with your niche site with advertising, affiliate programs, or your own stuff.

Search Engine Assault: what you need to do to get Google to love your site and send organic traffic your way.

Power Networking: how to use social networking to become an authority in your site’s topic.

The above list is just a sample of what Crowd Mountain members have access to. The rest you can read on the Crowd Mountain website.

What do I think of Crowd Mountain?

At this time, I have only seen and viewed the tutorials found in modules one, Niche the Niche, and two, Optimize for Size. This is because Michelle is releasing one module per week, to prevent confusion and information overload. Since the site is just a little over a week old (as of this writing), these are the only modules available. So, this Crowd Mountain review is based on two things: the two modules I’ve already seen, and my previous experience of Michelle’s training from my time spent with her as my mentor.

Regarding the two modules I have seen, they are outstanding. Contained in the first module are not one, but three, training videos detailing how to do keyword research. The three videos cover three different niches (one niche per video), so viewers get a very good idea of how to do keyword research.

The second module is all about how to properly set up a new WordPress blog so that it is SEO’d right from the beginning. Michelle details how to install and setup the plugins she considers most important for site SEO. I was familiar with some of the plugins, but, after watching her videos for them, realized I had been using them incorrectly. So, even in an area that I thought I knew, I learned something.

One of my favorite tools, which is exclusive to Crowd Mountain members, is the task manager. Michelle had this program custom made just for this site. The Task Manager software keeps track of what has and hasn’t been done on every website you enter into it. Most tasks are ones created by Michelle, but users can add their own tasks if they like to do things that Michelle doesn’t include. This makes it fully customizable to each member’s wants or needs. I am loving this program!

There is also a Snooper program: “The Snooper was made to look inside Google’s algorithm and literally SEE what link building and social media sites Google likes the most. Those are the sites to focus on – if they’re already in favor, piggyback your own sites on them for quick ranking.” Is it truly as powerful as Michelle claims? Yes! Is it really easy to use? Yes!

Pros and Cons of Crowd Mountain

Pros of Crowd Mountain

Access to highly detailed training videos, that cover just about all aspects of building sites

Access to the Task Manager, to keep track of what needs to be done on your sites

Access to The Snooper, to know in minutes where to go to promote link building

Cons of Crowd Mountain

None (I cannot come up with a single con for this program)

About the Developer

According to Michelle, “I focus on integrating “Web 2.0? technology – that is, the hip, new, cool stuff all the kids are using – into my marketing, as well as teaching others how to do the same. I believe the internet is turning more and more towards user-created content and grassroots movements.

One of my favorite things to learn about is a new, neat website with some Web 2.0 usefulness integrated into it – and my first questions is, “How do I use this for marketing?”

Cost and Licensing of Crowd Mountain

Membership Cost: $47 per month

Cost includes access to modules (one per week), the Task Manager, WordPress blog plugins, the Snooper (an awesome tool!) and anything else Michelle adds to the site!

Special Bonus for Pioneer Members

For those who join within the first six weeks of the site’s launch, you will have the unique opportunity to submit questions to Michelle for each module’s live Q&A, typically held on the Friday after that module’s introduction. There is only one Q&A session per module, so don’t miss this opportunity to ask Michelle anything relating that week’s module.

As stated on the Crowd Mountain website, “As a pioneer Crowd Mountain member, you’ll actually be able to attend the live session and ask your own, personal questions about the material and get answers directly from me. Late comers will only get the recorded Q&A and will not be able to ask their personal questions.”

I participated in the Q&A for Module One (as of this writing, it is the only Q&A session that has been completed). It was an excellent training session. Those who were not able to participate will be able to listen to the call, and I am sure that it will be beneficial to just about all who listen to it.

Visit Crowd Mountain and decide if it is right for you. I can honestly say that everything Michelle promises will be delivered, and then some.

Hot Link Cloaker is an excellent url cloaker script. The primary use for this cloaker script is to use it to hide affiliate links. If you want to know how to hide URL addresses, then this script is for you.

Features

The benefit of cloaking affiliate links is to prevent people from stealing your affiliate commissions. You may be wondering how? Hide URL addresses using this script, which is very simple to install and setup.

You will need to setup a mysql database to use this program. This is easy to do from your site’s cPanel.

All upgrades are available at no additional cost. I have been a user of Hot Link Cloaker since 2006 and can honestly say that the upgrades made available have been excellent, and have added to the value of this cloaker script.

There have been a few times when I have needed to contact Support for Hot Link Cloaker. My questions were answered in a timely manner, by the author of this software, Jamie Ratliff. Jamie was very professional, and I sincerely appreciated the time he took to assist me until my questions were completely answered.

One really great feature that was recently added is the ability to see how often a link is clicked. This is great because it allows you to track how well your affiliate campaigns are doing. If you see that no one is clicking, then you can modify your text/link and see if clicks increase. Or, you can see how many people are clicking an converting to sales. If you have no idea how many people are clicking, then you have no way of knowing if you need to improve your campaigns.

When visitors click one of your cloaked links, they will not be able to see that the link is an affiliate URL. There is a live demo for you to try, and I highly recommend that you do, so you get a feel for how this works.

If you have your own site, or sites, then you probably already know that getting links back to your site (aka backlinks) is a great way to increase both traffic and your Google Page Rank. Getting backlinks, however, is a time consuming job. Unless, of course, you use tools that will do the footwork for you.

Comment Hut is one such tool. The purpose of Comment Hut is to search and find blogs and sites that allow you to leave comments that include a link back to your site.

You can use Comment Hut by entering a term that it will use to search any or all of the following site types: Drupal, HubPages, LiveJournal, Squidoo, TypePad, WordPress, and WordPress.com. Ideally, the term you enter should relate to the site you will link back to.

After you get your results, which can take a while if you entered a term that has a lot of results, you can then get the Page Rank for any given result. (Or, you can set a minimum Page Rank before you do your search, from 1 to 10, though don’t expect many results above PR4 or PR5). You can then export your results, to work on later, or you can click on a link to go straight to that site to leave comments on.

I have found that using Comment Hut is an easy way to get relevant backlinks. By that, I mean that the sites I comment on are similar to my site (the one I’m adding a backlink to), so the link is relevant in Google’s eyes. This program has done research that would have otherwise taken me hours to do.

Features

Saves you time when searching for related blogs and sites you can post your comments on. Comment Hut searches Google for up to 1000 results per platform (type of site being searched). While unlikely, this means you could have up to 7,000 blogs or sites to comment on. Comment Hut only returns results from blogs that allow comments.

Comment Hut will sort the results of your search in order of Page Rank. This allows you to find high ranking blogs and sites very easily.

Pros and Cons of Comment Hut

Pros of Comment Hut

Comment Hut is VERY easy to install

Using Comment Hut is fairly intuitive

You can choose the type of sites you want Comment Hut to search (i.e. WordPress blogs, Squidoo, etc.)

Comment Hut saves you time by doing the hard work for you!

Cons of Comment Hut

No option to search for software updates from within Comment Hut (update notifications are sent via email)

No “nofollow” sites are searched for, only “dofollow” sites (too many links from “dofollow” sites may result in a penalty for your site from Google)

There is no mass delete option (not every result will be relevant to a search, but these unrelated results can only be deleted one at a time)

About the Developers

Comment Hut was created by Paul Forcey and Stewart Alexander, though my impression is that this is really Paul’s baby. I haven’t had any experience with Stewart, but I have been very impressed with Paul. There have been a few times I’ve needed to contact him and he responded within 24 hours. He has worked with me until he was sure all my questions were answered.

Cost and Licensing of Comment Hut

One Time Cost: $97 (though there is a free version you can try that limits searches to 250 from WordPress sites only)

Leave as MANY comments as you like with a single license!

Free Lifetime Upgrades at no additional Cost!

30 Day Money Back Guarantee!

If you are looking for a quick and easy way to get into the affiliate market at eBay Partner Network, Build a Niche Store (aka BANS) is one of the easiest ways to get started! BANS is an All-in-One solution that can help you build a high performance affiliate website in very short order, and with a minimal learning curve! Of course, something this easy to use also has a few downsides to it, and in this case, there is quite a saturation of Niche Stores already in the marketplace!

Build a Niche Store Features

BANS is actually one of the few standalone applications for the eBay Affiliate program, that has all the features built into its own package! Installation of Build a Niche Store is actually a breeze, and the developers have gone out of their way to write a very indepth manual to walk you through the process! After you have it installed and set your own unique login and password… the real development begins!

Target One eBay Category – or As Many as You Want!
BANS lets you draw auctions directly into your website, from ANY of the many thousands of categories in the eBay marketplace! If your chosen topic exists in several categories, it can handle multiples just as well!

Automatic Store menu Building
After you choose your ebay category, Build a Niche Store automatically builds a starter menu in your store. Depending on the top level category, that could be 2-10 or hundreds of individual pages in your new Niche Store!

Ability to Build an Unlimited number of Content or Auction Pages!
Considering a topic like “Cars” could need hundreds of pages for the different types and manufacturers, BANS makes the task of creating new pages a breeze, and never limits you to the number you can publish!

Easily Create Hierachial Menus!
If you have cars… and want Chevrolet as a submenu of it, its all just a click away!

Unlimited Template and Theme Options, Edited from within the Admin!
Even though more than 20 different layouts and themes are included, Build a niche Store works off of three main template files that can be modified easily to support unlimited layout and design options with very little html skill!

These are just a few of the many features you will find with Build a Niche Store package! Read the reviews below then visit the website for a full list of all features!

Cons of BANS

Limited to eBay Auctions only in the product listings

You MUST write your own content to make it unique

BANS has recently been the subject of Googles’ attention, and has dropped thin affiliate sites from its index.

About the BANS Developers

Build a Niche Store was originally developed as a way for the developers to build their own niche websites in October, 2006. They soon found that so many others wanted the ability to do build product or “niche” focused websites much like they were doing on their own, so they set out to develop an easy to use method of doing so. Today, more than 2 years later, the ebay affiliate script has undergone several improvements and complete rebuilds, based on the needs and suggestions of thousands of users like ourselves. BANS has quickly developed into one of the most popular affiliate marketing tools, it now supports almost all of the eBay affiliate programs, has grown in a habit for more than 9,000 users from over 24 countries, and boasts a user to user community forum with nearly 100,000 posts.
