I recently got an email from the folks over at MaxBlogPress asking me if I had used the Ninja Affiliate plugin for WordPress. The timing was actually perfect, since I have been working on different ways to optimize my traffic on a few of my affiliate sites, and although I have tried several different link cloaking tools over the years, I had yet to use the Ninja Affiliate Plugin.

If you already do, or plan to use WordPress to manage any of your affiliate sites, having the right WordPress Affiliate Plugins is one of the keys to your success! The MBP Ninja Affiliate, is one of those that makes life easy!

After thinking about it for like… less than 5 minutes… I sent Deelip a reply and he sent me a review copy of the plugin, which I promptly installed on one of my to-do-list sites, and started using.

Ninja Affiliate does a few things VERY WELL, it helps you “Cloak your links”, and it allows you to “Replace words like this with links” (actual plugin in action) When I installed it onto my affiliate site, I was able to take the name of a popular software the site was focused on, and have Ninja Affiliate rewrite the occurrence of the product name into affiliate links a specific number of times on every page of the site. Here’s the kicker… I was able to do this on a 280 page site, the whole site, in less than 5 minutes!

Its not all too often I get excited about a new Link Cloaking tool – I mean, they all pretty much do the same thing right? You put in the link you want to mask, decide on the word you want to use as a reference, and go. Three steps, cut and dry. When I got my copy of Pretty Links Pro, I really figured it was going to be more of the same. I was very wrong!

Hot Link Cloaker is an excellent url cloaker script. The primary use for this cloaker script is to use it to hide affiliate links. If you want to know how to hide URL addresses, then this script is for you.

Features

The benefit of cloaking affiliate links is to prevent people from stealing your affiliate commissions. You may be wondering how? Hide URL addresses using this script, which is very simple to install and setup.

You will need to setup a mysql database to use this program. This is easy to do from your site’s cPanel.

All upgrades are available at no additional cost. I have been a user of Hot Link Cloaker since 2006 and can honestly say that the upgrades made available have been excellent, and have added to the value of this cloaker script.

There have been a few times when I have needed to contact Support for Hot Link Cloaker. My questions were answered in a timely manner, by the author of this software, Jamie Ratliff. Jamie was very professional, and I sincerely appreciated the time he took to assist me until my questions were completely answered.

One really great feature that was recently added is the ability to see how often a link is clicked. This is great because it allows you to track how well your affiliate campaigns are doing. If you see that no one is clicking, then you can modify your text/link and see if clicks increase. Or, you can see how many people are clicking an converting to sales. If you have no idea how many people are clicking, then you have no way of knowing if you need to improve your campaigns.

When visitors click one of your cloaked links, they will not be able to see that the link is an affiliate URL. There is a live demo for you to try, and I highly recommend that you do, so you get a feel for how this works.
