John,

If you belong to a bunch of networks than you may not have to fool around too much. If you really don't need the datafeed features/storebuilding than I would just work with the networks directly.

In your cons section you state that merchants have to go to another level which can be cumbersome. Being new in the internet business will this just give me more problems in getting my site up and running?

Duplicate page titles or no page title will just P.O. the robots and potential customers. Not to mention no benefits. Not really SEO benefits if the robot detects 30,000 duplicate titles what do you think will happen?

I've used GoldenCan before to test out product offerings. I'm not particularly crazy about external datafeed sources or clearinghouses. Their sign up was quick and painless and I could get the code on my site very quickly. If the product was a fit for my site I would try the affiliate network directly to get a datafeed for the permanent pages I would set up.
