If you have your own site, or sites, then you probably already know that getting links back to your site (aka backlinks) is a great way to increase both traffic and your Google Page Rank. Getting backlinks, however, is a time consuming job. Unless, of course, you use tools that will do the footwork for you.
Comment Hut is one such tool. The purpose of Comment Hut is to search and find blogs and sites that allow you to leave comments that include a link back to your site.
You can use Comment Hut by entering a term that it will use to search any or all of the following site types: Drupal, HubPages, LiveJournal, Squidoo, TypePad, WordPress, and WordPress.com. Ideally, the term you enter should relate to the site you will link back to.
After you get your results, which can take a while if you entered a term that has a lot of results, you can then get the Page Rank for any given result. (Or, you can set a minimum Page Rank before you do your search, from 1 to 10, though don’t expect many results above PR4 or PR5). You can then export your results, to work on later, or you can click on a link to go straight to that site to leave comments on.
I have found that using Comment Hut is an easy way to get relevant backlinks. By that, I mean that the sites I comment on are similar to my site (the one I’m adding a backlink to), so the link is relevant in Google’s eyes. This program has done research that would have otherwise taken me hours to do.
Features
Saves you time when searching for related blogs and sites you can post your comments on. Comment Hut searches Google for up to 1000 results per platform (type of site being searched). While unlikely, this means you could have up to 7,000 blogs or sites to comment on. Comment Hut only returns results from blogs that allow comments.
Comment Hut will sort the results of your search in order of Page Rank. This allows you to find high ranking blogs and sites very easily.
Pros and Cons of Comment Hut
Pros of Comment Hut
- Comment Hut is VERY easy to install
- Using Comment Hut is fairly intuitive
- You can choose the Page Rank of the sites you want Comment Hut to search
- You can choose the type of sites you want Comment Hut to search (i.e. WordPress blogs, Squidoo, etc.)
- Comment Hut saves you time by doing the hard work for you!
Cons of Comment Hut
- No option to search for software updates from within Comment Hut (update notifications are sent via email)
- No “nofollow” sites are searched for, only “dofollow” sites (too many links from “dofollow” sites may result in a penalty for your site from Google)
- There is no mass delete option (not every result will be relevant to a search, but these unrelated results can only be deleted one at a time)
About the Developers
Comment Hut was created by Paul Forcey and Stewart Alexander, though my impression is that this is really Paul’s baby. I haven’t had any experience with Stewart, but I have been very impressed with Paul. There have been a few times I’ve needed to contact him and he responded within 24 hours. He has worked with me until he was sure all my questions were answered.
Cost and Licensing of Comment Hut
- One Time Cost: $97 (though there is a free version you can try that limits searches to 250 from WordPress sites only)
- Leave as MANY comments as you like with a single license!
- Free Lifetime Upgrades at no additional Cost!
- 30 Day Money Back Guarantee!

This program sounds very similar to the Fast Blog Finder tool by G-lock software.
Having the ability to quickly search for blogs in your niche to leave comments on is a real time saver.
I’m sure they’ll work out the minor usability issues.
Great review!

As stated by the review, too many dofollow links without any nofollow links may affect your site ranking.

@Bart
You are right about not wanting all ‘dofollow’ links. If you do this, search engines will be on to you and know what you are doing.
If using Comment Hut is your only method of getting backlinks then having too many ‘dofollow’ links would be a valid concern. However, if you use this, along with various other methods, you should have a nice balance of ‘dofollow’ and ‘nofollow’ backlinks to your sites.

I’ve had it for years and used it off and on. I don’t worry about just dofollow links because I do other things that get links as well.
It could be more intuitive.

I’ve been using comment hut demo from many days and after researching I have recommended this software to many people. Only drawback (maybe in demo) is that the software gather results very slow. Sometime 1 hour search would return only 6 websites. However, all the websites were high PR and if you are lucky to get your comments approved your PR and rankings will surely improve. Overall I would rate the software Good.

Ahmad,
You are right about the time it takes to get results. This is true, also, of the full version. On the plus side, the full version offers a lot more types of sites you can search through.
