I didn't like the fact that you could only get domains for one-year periods, when I wanted to get them for 3 or 5 years at least. They may have changed that, but a couple of years ago it was a factor that made me move most of the domains I had there over to Go Daddy.

I also don't like their user interface. It's is the hardest one I've ever worked with, with common features like seeing the ENTIRE list of domains you have there in one list not available. Instead, they show you your "packages" of domains that you bought at the same time; if there are more than a couple of domains in the package, then you can't see that domain name because the column is too narrow. I just want to see ALL my domains in alpha order, not bundled into groups based on when I bought them!

Basic things like managing renewals were also difficult. I wanted to let some domains just expire, and didn't realize that they had been set to auto-renew. I had to call their help line to find out where to change the settings and remove auto-renew.

But their support is very good and their prices aren't bad.

I have purchased over 10 domains form 1 and 1
and am satisfied. the only doewn side is it takes alittle
longer for the domains to become active. sometime 24hrs.

he communication is great and they answered my anxious calls
quite swiftly. all in all a great company.
.com domains for 6.49. cheapest so far.

I'm not too crazy about having to sign up for a minimum of six months to get the best rate but that's pretty common amongst all the website services.

Other than that, no major issues with them.

I was referred to 1 and 1 hosting by a close friend who was into site building. I got the first month for like a penny and then its $7 or so every month since. I wont say they have been perfect, but alot of the issue have been user-generated also! Comes with the learning curve..

I have had a few times the sites went down, but they got them fixed fast after an email was sent.

Overall, its been a pretty good experience with them.
